About The Client

The client is a leading global technology company and a key player in the laptop industry. Looking to introduce Embedded Connectivity capabilities for Windows PC laptops, the client sought a solution to integrate eSIM functionality into its devices, enabling users to adopt eSIM with ease.

Challenge

Despite the increasing adoption of eSIMs across smartphones and tablets, their integration into laptops remains relatively underdeveloped. Therefore, the client sought a streamlined solution that would enable seamless eSIM activation and management directly within a native Windows application. However, implementing this required expertise in both telecommunications and Windows APIs, as well as a user-friendly interface to simplify the activation process.

Solution

Mobilise leveraged its Windows eSIM SDK with in-app eSIM activation capabilities to address the client’s needs. This enables a simple and intuitive interface, enabling users to perform key eSIM operations seamlessly. It also provides all the necessary components to deliver digital-first service propositions, ensuring a user-centric approach that aligns with the client’s vision.

The solution utilises Windows APIs to activate mobile connectivity on eSIM-compatible laptops equipped with an embedded UICC (eUICC). Users can install and activate an eSIM profile through the native Windows app, ensuring a smooth transition to mobile data connectivity without requiring external hardware or manual configurations.

Results

The Windows eSIM SDK successfully demonstrated the feasibility of in-app eSIM activation on Windows PC laptops. By utilising Windows APIs, the application provided a seamless activation experience for users, setting the groundwork for broader adoption of eSIM in the Windows ecosystem. The solution showcases Mobilise’s ability to deliver cutting-edge, digital-first solutions.
