Partnership between iPass and Mobilise Consulting gives MVNOs access to 57million WIFI hotspots globally and increases data gross margin by 30%*

The latest OFCOM Communications Market report shows that consumers have nearly trebled the amount of mobile data consumed on their smartphones in the last three years.

Furthermore, data hungry consumers are increasingly turning to WIFI for their smartphone habit, with around 80% of smartphone data going over a WIFI network.++

This can leave MVNOs at a competitive disadvantage because they do not have access tothe established WIFI infrastructure that network operators such as EE or BT rely upon.

With no WIFI break out strategy, the MVNOs underlying costs are dramatically increasedbecause every MB that they transit has to be over the more expensive mobile data network.

A new partnership between iPass and Mobilise Consulting aims to level the playing field. Offering MVNOs access to57million WIFI hotspots globally and millions of hotspots in the UK including providers such as BT and The Cloud.

MVNOs taking the Mobilise Hotspot solution can give their customers access to fast, secure, high quality and seamless WIFI data access.
In addition, because this is a global solution, customer’s can also reduce their costs when using data and voice services abroad by using Mobilise switchboard OTT calling application.

“ MVNOs have a tremendous opportunity to differentiate their customer proposition, reduce their costs and improve their service”, says Hamish White Mobilise Founder and CEO. “Our conservative estimates are that an MVNO can increase gross margin by up to 30% when traffic is moved off the mobile network onto this high quality WIFI service. Mobilise offer a completely managed solution, that can be customised and branded for each MVNO. For consumers it is simple and seamless, once they have downloaded the app Mobilise Hotspot will always try to access the best quality WIFI service before it breaks out onto the more expensive mobile network.”
